Wanted Dispatch October 6(sorry a day late)

Dance of Cloaks by David Dalglish
David originally self published this assassin centric series and due its popularity and sales Orbit Books picked it up for wider publication like they did with Michael Sullivan's epic fantasy series earlier this year. Many writers in adventure fiction I really enjoy have written some pretty nice things about it and as a fan of Brent Weeks and Sam Sykes fantasy books this is something of a must read for me. Here is the synopsis... And a link to an excerpt from Orbit....
The Underworld rules the city of Veldaren. Thieves, smugglers, assassins... they fear only one man.

Thren Felhorn is the greatest assassin of his time. All the thieves' guilds of the city are under his unflinching control. If he has his way, death will soon spill out from the shadows and into the streets.

Aaron is Thren's son, trained to be heir to his father's criminal empire. He's cold, ruthless - everything an assassin should be. But when Aaron risks his life to protect a priest's daughter from his own guild, he glimpses a world beyond piston, daggers, and the iron rule of his father.

Assassin or protector; every choice has its consequences.

Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch
Along with the Blade Itself by Joe Abercrombie The Lies of Loche Lamora by Scott Lynch are books that are credited with starting the grim dark fantasy thing and are books I love. Every so often I see the first book of Scott's series up for sale cheap for the e-book and its absolutely a steal at any price, I got mine while housesitting for a close friend in Holland and it was worth full shelf price. It so shallow for me to say it but this cover is so gorgeous that I say any fantasy fan would be happy with this series. Here is a link to Scott's site where you can read excerpts from the previous novels and this third volume....
This is among the best of modern fantasy... And its so pretty....

Desert Tales by Melissa Marr
As a book store worker I got a chance to read the arc of The Arrival that came out not too long back and I really enjoyed the part of the books I got to read before I got derailed by books I asked for from the publishers arrived and I so want to read more of her work. I have not read the Wicked Lovely series Melissa wrote but the bit I got to read of her writing I think it would be absolutely worth a read. Here is the long description of the book....
Return to the world of Melissa Marr's bestselling series and discover how the events of Wicked Lovely set a different faery tale in motion. . . . Originally presented as a manga series and now available for the first time as a stand-alone novel, Desert Tales combines tentative romance, outward strength, and inner resolve in a faery story of desert and destiny.
The Mojave Desert was a million miles away from the plots and schemes of the Faerie Courts—and that's exactly why Rika chose it as her home. The once-mortal faery retreated to the desert's isolation after decades of carrying winter's curse inside her body. But her seclusion—and the freedom of the desert fey—is threatened by the Summer King's newfound strength. And when the manipulations of her trickster friend, Sionnach, thrust Rika into a new romance, she finds new power within herself—and a new desire to help Sionnach protect the desert fey and mortals alike. The time for hiding is over.
