The Book of the Dead edited by Jared Shurin
This is a holiday appropriate themed anthology looking at the Mummy through short fiction. Here is a link to the publishers website where you can see the great pinup of writers for this book. In addition to looking like a great anthology proceeds from this go to the Egypt Exploration Society. The collection hits the shelves this Tuesday in all forms including a limited edition and the easy to get eBook format along with the standard print version.
I realized my omission this morning when Tor.com posted this excerpt from the amazing Paul Cornell which takes the dissipated animate mummy of Ramses to the old west..here is a link to the story if you have yet to come across this gem of fiction... People who have been reading the blog a while know my affection for his writing... For me this is ample reason to get the book but with writers like Gail Carriger, Lou Morgan, Maurice Broaddus, Johnathan Green and Adam Roberts along for the ride this is sure to be a winner....
